This Genuine Fancy Montana Sapphire has a gorgeous Sunshine like orange and yellow color. It is warm and bright. There is one area of the stone that is colorless, it can be viewed from the sides and various places as the stone is moved around. It is cradled by a swath of orange around one corner and then turns to vibrant yellow on the other. It all blends together to make a fabulous interplay of warm color that dazzles the beholder.
This Sapphire has a rather large fan-shaped phantom in the pavilion that is interesting. There is also another stripe-like phantom off of the edge of the main one. There is also a small inclusion by the girdle. They are all difficult to see when the stone is not back lit, and appear to the naked eye as a light patch of silk when it is visible, which is is not always. This gem still has good clarity and would make a lovely ring or pendant. Yes! You could use this for an engagement ring if color was more important than clarity.
This Sapphire weighs 1.45 carat, measures 7.83 x 5.36 mm and has an oval cut. It was hand mined by my family in Rock Creek, MT, heat treated by my Father in Helena, MT, and faceted by family friends in Bangkok, Thailand in a clean and ethical facility.

I've noticed that everyone's computer monitors display colors differently. This may alter the appearance of the Sapphire's color from what it truly is. I do try to list everything as accurate as I can, and to the best of my ability in any given moment. If you have any questions about a stone's color or clarity, please let me know.
